Some of the colors could use some tweaking, and usually in a collection there is a repetition of trims, fabrics, and styling details. We like the styling she has going on here- it's kinda artsy/preppy/boho. I love how she thought out each of the accesories, but we feel like some of the looks could have been styled a little edgier without losing their RTW capabilities. What I liked about Cat’s collection was how they where linked together so well through the colors, the patterns, and the cuts of the garments, yet look so different in their own right. 9 Different people with different tastes could pick one of these for there own sense of style. That’s a hard thing to do in a collection, and one can speak from experience. Every piece links to the next in little ways like accessories, patterns, but each piece has its own individuality. A great choice of colors used, lovely warm colors you would need in the fall. And also what I like is that the garments can suit a host of different body shapes, adding versatility to the collection. I saw a bit of this but not enough to tie the entire collection together. The only thing that seemed truly cohesive are the colors, which are fresh and beautiful, using colors that generally arent though of for fall and making them cheerful to wear while everyone is wearing blacks, grays, and neutrals in between, or seem to think it's ok to match their surroundings. A lot of these silhouettes are nothing special, dont get me wrong they're great and the usual customer isnt going to go beyond that much, but with the new drop waist silhouettes and plays with bubbles and puffs I was a bit sad to see only one true innovative silhouette in that line. But you arent afraid to play with details and accessories, which is great, just keep in mind that accessories arent wholly important in a clothing collection, as those are developed seperately. It's also good to know that you know more fabric terminations other than 'such and such colored fabric'. This would be a very cute line for the art college girl who isnt into exposing all her flesh to get attention, and neither is she going to result to being gaudy.

ceazar This line is full of frills and experimentations, and not that they cannot be carried out, but I think only a select few of these could be worn by the everyday person, and a lot of them are more flashbulb pieces...great on the runway and for gathering attention, but not very practical. Ceazar's collection was a stunning throwback to the the good ol' victorian days. We loved it! We loved your overall attention to the curve of a woman without resorting to exposing so much skin. We also like your use of ruffles and flounces, as it seems to be a reoccurring theme throughout the pieces. the styling is in the garments themselves...accessories aren't needed at all. in fact, I'm glad that the accessories are minimal, with only a belt thrown in here and there to cinch the waist. Save for the two second to last pieces, there is a very renaissance feel to it (those two seem victorian/edwardian in a way). I think a few of the pieces may be a bit too manly for women today and might call attention to places a woman might want to keep looking small: her shoulders, hips, thighs etc. I am also a bit disappointed that these are just mere illustrations and I really cant tell the construction or fabrication, as you havent included any of that information for me. That is why I gave such a low cohesiveness score because in a line a repitition of colors, fabrics, details and trims is essential to not only cover cost but to offer an array of styles to your customer. One of us think you would make an excellent evening gown designer. You can tell he wasn’t afraid of bringing artistic flare in his designs, and taking risks and making a statement. The only links I could see between them was of the course the time period it was based on, using the same patterns and ruffles, but each design was completely different to next which was nice to see. I like to see each piece have its own personality. As Ceazar didn’t add any text describing each design, you would have a good look at the designs, and they do the speaking for themselves!

wakasashe-fashion What a breath of fresh air! So elegant, femenine, refined, and just plain FRESH! I thought his collection was wearable, unique, and creative. Not to mention his showmanship was amazing! You can tell he really put alot of time and enegry into his whole collection and presentation. We have no doubt that you put a lot of time and effort into these images but very little information can be gathered from these images as far as construction or fabrication, and you didnt provide any details in any of the descriptions. All the outfits were styled very professionally, but not so much that they would take away from the garment itself. You also seem to be using a wide array of fabrications, trims, and details, and not one of them connects to another garment: ruffles, cuts on bias, pleats, bubble skirts, flouncy sleeves, etc. Very few of the colors seem to match each other or represent enough coordination for mixing and matching. While the pieces do represent understated fashion and would make great modern pieces for a classy customer, again there is no coordination or cohesiveness. All in all: A lovely collection of wearable garments, with their own style, to suit near enough anyone tastes, with a healthy dose of high fashion. We could see these run down a runway for real! Any of these would give the wearer an air of confidence, which I believe was the point. It’s a very city feel for me this collection. You could see these in London or New York. They are wearable for everyday people yet not commercial. And that’s the best thing about the collection. I love the bold confident colors chosen and the cuts of the garments. And the shoes! Great stuff!

Click the links

This was the BEST CYCLE YET!!!!

(3rd Place)

(2nd Place)

(Winner)

Congrats to the WINNER! It was good to see a risk being taken! And it paid off. We love the different layers and fabric, it gave so many different textures and dimensions to the design for me. The one concern one of us had was its versatility. I don't think this would suit a lot of people, it would take certain body shapes to pull it off wearing it. But that's his/her own opinion. The necklace is a great addition and finally, someone used a PRINT! I just wish the bows around the waist were a little more defined, because I had to read the description twice to figure out what they were. all in all though, a great showing. Its a brilliant and thought out design!

catzilla the blues are very calming, and i love that she used more than one shade.
the pleats in the center are very attention-catching and add something unexpected to an otherwise classic dress. it probably provides great movement. great job!

ceazar With a difficult colour to design with, Ceazar pulled it off really well. That well in fact the first I thought of seeing the design was Beyonce in that dress on a red carpet!
The only thing that let us down personally was that just the cut of the dress one of us doesn't love...that cutout in the front...does he need it? I think the dress would have been more successful without it, since the back of the dress is so open. The other concern was the placement of the rhinestone, from which the chiffon propelled. (I made that mistake too!) I do really love the skirt though. It's just the top of the dress we have problems with.

OUT:panda-eyes I was pleasantly surprised by Panda. A designer that has a edgy and fun look to her designs, came up with something so beautiful, and that fact you can see her style in her design makes it even better! well done Panda to not losing your style in something so different to design! i wish she would have chose a darker green for the dress, or something a little more vibrant than the sea foam green i see on my screen. I also think the blouse should be attached to the dress, because without it, it's just a plain strapless dress. on the positive side, i love that you can tell it's clearly her, with the ruffles on the front of the blouse, the cutout in the back, and the beaded hem. I think she had a great showing this week.

ceazar wins! The design was pulled together, it was sharp, and the styling was on point as always. We saw his design with elements of sparklefly's, and that was the point! The cut and fabrics were sleek, and the color choices were superb. The outfit looked fit for Kate Moss to wear to a party in the Hamptons! Magnifique!

wakasashe-fashion... to tell the truth, to me, it didn't seem like you changed the design very much. The differences I saw were the back, the stripe on the pants, and the ruffled hem on the jacket and sleeves. True, it might be your design asthetic...but it didn't really seem like a challenge for you.

panda-eyes...the dress wasn't as exuberant as I had expected. I was expecting more color (since he didn't list any that I am ware of) but the bolero was wonderfully exicuted. I wasn't in love with the "you can find this in the junior section" dress with the overlayer of chiffon, and the styling was way off. It was eluding, and I didn't have the patience to figure it out...

catzilla It was a little ho hum for me. The chiffon top with the vest and the skirt with fluted hem..yes..but...It was a bit too common sillouette for you. we know you do ready-to-wear and we totally admire that, yes the design was you but I feel as if I've seen it before...that skirt or maybe the vest. I'm merley releived that you're still in!

OUT:sparklefly The design was palaple...and was I the only one that didn't love it?I was releved to see that the pooping chiffon bustle had been removed. I definatly thought it was a very well exictued design, but for me the colors were a bit...LSU. I thought her deep violet dress with the exuberant gold trin and piping treatment looked great at first, but as I stared at it I thought: "Ive seen this before." To me, it was evident that the bustle would have benefited from more fabric, but it was too late for that. The outfit and the accessory looked as though they were made to be together, and the outfit merely didn't complement or "go with" the accessory, but must INCORPORATED IT as part of a single thought. cat delivered it all: silhouette, proportion, fit, fabrics, and style. The top could have had a bit more interest, but it was still together. It was a fabulous achievement. Bravo, cat!

panda-eyes' Approach to this challenge was humorous and playful, too. The result, a cotton shirt sheer pink shirt with pussy bow detail and polka dots and a pale grey bubble skirt. She created a sparkling and pink frothy runway worth masterpeice of an outfit that was beautiful, creative, and inspiring, and this works well with the glasses. It was ambitious, and it was pulled off!

ceazar's work: You can't predict it. The collar kind of looked odd, and we didn't really see the purse in the design. Omiting the challenge, it was great, but you cant'. The purse kind of stood out a bit more, but thankfully the scores prevented him from being out!

wakasashe-fashion's dress looked kind of spacey and alien-like. It's not a critiqsim, mearly an observation (from my point of view). It was very beautiful and superbly constructed, and his choice to make it part of the outfit was what the challenge was all about. His design was intelligent, nuanced, tactile, slightly martial, but very feminine.

sparklefly The bust is beautiful and mimics the sunglasses wonderfully. Not only was it a literal translation but it also represented those cool shades in mood. The rest was...er...not boring. Definatly not boring. Just rather straight. I would have loved to see a jacket or more deatils to help this look become more interesting. It's a really sophisticated peice just rather basic. Everyone did great, but it was all in he scores.

OUT: lasmith is up and down and up and down! One week to the next, I never know whether she will sink or swim. So far, she's managed to keep her head above water. She stumbled in my humble opinion. When she hits it big, as she did last week, I stand back and admire. It was very architectural and kinda stiff. It definatly encorperated the shoes, but wasn't as sleek as we expected it to be. It looked as if it didn't fit
properly...and how can it not fit properly in a drawing? At first glance, its like what the? but as you study all the details of the design, it grows on you fast. I applauded the team's inventive use of fabrics, when I heard that they were using a vintage pattern for thier design I said "uh-oh…"but they transformed it into something truly fabulous. In fact, the pattern is a work of art all on its own. It's just too bright. There's not really a focal point to the outfit. It makes you want to look everywhere at everything. The cut and style of the outfit are nice, but there is just too much going on, and while it's definately creative, it's too loud. You can tell these two had so much fun working together. Alot of people want that bag!

lasmith and ceazar You can instantly tell these worked well together, their seperate styles complemented each other perfectly. The structure of the desgin was well thought out, The only thing I would say, it didnt really feel victorian to me that much. I think its the print on the dress that did it, reminded me of 50's feel. It was hip, youthful, sexy, and upbeat with a splash of spice-stunning. All the colors go perfectly together without being too "matchy-matchy". The Victorian inspired coat is very well designed with the nice godet inserts to give it that extra flare without the bulk. The dress is adorable and would be gorgeous just on its own. All the textures and the rouching really make this a fun outfit. The teamwork behind this design was perfect -- both designers points of view can be seen without any clashing.
A very good collaberation.

wakasashe-fashion and sparklefly Note: Only one of the two will be out. We will interview them, and will choose who will be in (so designers you should start creating your designs until you know that you are out.) Their styles you could see had simular taste in designs, and this reflected well in thier collab. As for the design, it was well thought out and exicuted; though not inappropriate, I feared that the judges would find this particular work to be too much of an "already done" piece and that our judges would begin to brand the team with a "safe" label, which would not be good for the them. Yes, it was an open design topic but really they could have maybe added more details in the bust that was wakasashe, and kept the rest. Maybe a broch on the jacket? While I consider the team's design to be great and powerful, the investment — design and detail— was minimal when compared to thier peers. Alone, fabulous.

Guest Judge: taeliac

wakasashe It seams (pun intened) that wakasashe-fashion never disappoints. The look was classy and elegant (his thing). I just wished that I would have known the fabric of the body of the dress. George’s building was Jin Mao building in Shanghai, and I wasn't sure how he would do, especially considering that it was so straight and had a big pointytop. He designed a halter dress with attention to the bust and back and it looks wonderful. The stole and train were a wonderful addition. From the moment that the model appeared on the screen, George had the judges completely seduced. He'll be back next week folks!

catzilla A gorgeous, non-literal translation! The tiered skirting is absolutely lovely, the colors are fab, and the whole gown looks very comfy and would give a nice floating effect while going down the runway. A lot of referencing was done for this design, which really made it great. The little bits of blue detailing really made this one stand out, and she should be proud of this design!!! The original sketch idea seemed to do so much more with the wing-skirt detailing than the final image did, and maybe that was just in the sketchy nature of the drawing. Otherwise, this is very inspired, and it was great seeing some of the period in which the building was made added to the look of the garment. The color choice was unique, and work very well with the whole outfit and period.WOO!

panda-eyes Even though it was literal, it was fabulous. I have to say, on first glance I was suprised to see the building actually there. Looking at it longer, it just all seemed to fit together and work. The scarf part, is a great idea, and the sky-blue color the perfect choice for a building that soars into the air. We love the pattern at the bottom, kinda like windows! It's amazing...really..this one was definatly hard to beat.

lasmith My first thought was on the unique colors of the piece - they stand out, and make a true statement. Then, I looked at the technicals of how this could be made, and realized that it isn't difficult at all (all be it time consuming). It has a completely modern feel, like it just jumped out of a movie like Aeon Flux, but is still something that could be worn. Very well illustrated, and the presentation was impecable. It looks like it could glide down the runway with not problem. My only nick pick is that the golden window like things look a little too literal, but other than that it translates wonderfully. I loved the fabrications and the seams. The lines were wonderful and I loved the sleeves. All in all it was a wonderful submittion.

sparklefly Wow, this gown looks fit for a Queen. It has a very classic look to it, with gorgeous details. Simplistic, yet complex with all the shapes and patterns on the bodice and the hem. The train gives the whole ensemble a more fun, and less strictly elegant, look. The colors were wonderful and the sparklefly empire waist is back! It was woderful, but I thought the arches in the bust was kind of literal, but that was a slight mishap. It was wonderful! This really is a romantic dress - the train does it especially! I like all the little details, including the bodice design, and using all the patterns of the pretty design found on the building itself. The only thing that I didn't care for was the skirt itself - I couldn't figure out how it would actually look from the sketch. The color choice, however, was very good - it just adds to that romantic feel.As Michael Kors says, Kudos!

ceazar A disco ball! The outfit was a disco ball. It was wonderful! All of the sparkle and glam, all added up to the Taj Mahal. I was so glad that he didn't do white, he did a creme print which was lovely. The draping and layering was masterful and the embroidery was wonderful!!! Stunning. The colors and details are wonderful - all the use of the rhinestones, really balance the whole design out. I just, somehow, feel that this is lacking the punch that really denotes it as the "Taj Mahal", although the longer I look at it, the more it appeals to me as a whole. I think it's something about the bodice that throws me off a bit, but either way, this is something I would love to see realized.
I hope to see even more fabulousness in the next round!

Out:Adeladia Everyone was so good, it was hard to choose who would be out. We love the whole idea of the "neighborhood" affecting the outfit, instead of just focusing on the Opera House itself. The hat and skirt, however, seemed to be the focus (and I cannot forget the purse - that is the greatest accessory!) and the corset piece seems to be unweildly, and very much uncomfortable to wear, especially from the side view. The pictures, however, helped to make more sense of that view, but it still feels like it's something that is a bit bulky. The bodice designs should have been panels rather than layered shapes though. Gives it a slightly odd appearance from the side angle. The hat is very dramatic yet fitting, and the belt and the skirt patterns are cute. The color scheme was very well thought out. Not so sure the shoes work with all the stuff standing out like that. Maybe if it were an embedded pattern instead? Or if the shoes were cut to to that kind of shape/design? That would have been very creative. And one word for the purse - adorable! Good luck Adeladia with your future ambitions!

wakasashe-fashion A very professional and strong outfit, although the length of the skirt is questionable. It looks like it was shrunk in the wash or is a size too small. The shoes are a great design as well but to me the switched in color is not the best choice(I loved the orange shoes). The whole thing was excellent and it was bold and sexy, yet sophisticated and romantic. And..you have immunity from being elimanated from the next challenge!
sparklefly hit everything right with this. The proportions were perfect, with her fabulous wide legged pant, and the oatmeal plaid. The conservative navy blue was a great addition and made the whole presentation more appealing. We liked the cut of the jacket and the placements of the buttons. The trimmings were perfect and the whole look was polished, restrained, and feminine. She sparkle, it can be done without being boring! Clap! Bravo! Encore!

panda-eyes The silhouette of the design is beautiful and sleek, but everything else to me seems out of place. I like the texture fabrication of the suit w/ gored skirt, but having it ribbed with leather? I never heard of this. From my stand point, ribboning this conservative outfit w/ leather automatically switches the mood and makes it slightly costumy and eccentric. Depending on what kind of leather, any of them would take it heavy looking. It also destroys the interesting texture it had. If only the ribboning were made of something softer and more appropriate. The shirt underneath doesn't belong...it looks mass produced and also gives 2 different moods throughout the design. We would have let the shirt be neutral red for the matching of the bow. I have to admit that I'm not usually drawn to the whole red and green combo being that they are contrast colors and can make my head hurt when put together...but the light shade of the green goes perfectly with the cherry red! Although I'm not sure what fabric the main green of the outfit is made of...the pattern and color is great! And I LOVE the idea of having a green leather trim!

Beautifully done and executed!

ceazar ceazar’s work has been consistently strong ever since the first challenge, but in this, the same fabrics yet again...but a beautiful design nonetheless. The sleeves and vest all worked out well (you have a knack for picking fabrics and colors) and the pants were great. The whole thing was interesting, and very well executed. The only thing that worried me was the single button..it just looked odd...but maybe that's just me talking.

Adeladia This is poorly illustrated. I can understand if people have their own illustration style, but when you want to convince people that your garments aren't costumy, you have to illustrate it and present it more realistically so we can get persuaded. This looks like a costume from head to toe, but reading the description...I'll just believe it's just Haute Couture. I like the colors and texture mixing with the skirt being double layered with lace, but it's not meant for career wear. It has no feeling of career or any style available within that range. The top with that dramatic color can actually work if everything else related more appropriately. When designing for something specific like bridal, career, costume or even concerts...the design must look believable and appropriate in a competition at least, even if it's Haute Couture.

catzilla The colors were on spot all the way. It wasn’t boring there were always little surprises to be found in the design, and it was defiantly a risk to use. My only complaint is the lining. It doesn’t really play into the whole piece well. However, this design was defiantly up there ^^! It’s great, and it’s defiantly a contender for the win.

lasmith . I understood the jacket and I responded well to it. It was art, and it was captivating on its own. But once it was paired with the skirt, it looked strangely proportioned and, um, odd. It was paired with another peculiarity, a vest with suspenders that was about a close to weird and um, odd as one could possibly get. Huh? I thought it was preposterous looking, but then I can be one-sided. I told myself, “Well, at least it’s kind of sophisticated. And at least it’s not too boring (the pleats saved the look).” Lasmith, next time be a little more careful.

OUT: ilani It looked all over the place. The whole outfit looked thrown together at the last possible minute. Maybe if the colors hadn’t been so wild it would have worked better. Maybe playing it down with a black or something. I personally loved the top and jacket, but the skirt it what messed everything up. It was bold and rushed and pinned and frilled…it was just too much. I’m REALLY sad to see you go ilani…you were defiantly a interesting one to see every week! But someone had to go.

ceazar Alright. First off even though the one he didn't color was the one that wasn't very him HE NEEDED TO COLOR IT! It's part of making a professional looking and cohesive illustration! *heh hem* Other than that I think he did a FANTASTIC job! We just loved the design that represents him! It's so fun and chic!...gosh and that vest is to die for! The colors flowed together, but I wasn't too particular about the chiffon for the skirt...maybe a satin? But ultimately it was his design. The design that wasn't him was boring and frumpy. Which makes since because ceazar's style is anything but that. It was dasturdus, horrendous, and B-O-R-I-N-G. Great job ceazar!!

Adelaida designed two colorful and risky outfits as usual. I really don't think she cares about being out...and that's a good thing. She takes risks, and as I mentioned before, I love risk takers. And this risk worked. Her fabrications and ebullient colored prints were great, and I loved the brown one, the unusual silhouette, fabrics, and shapes worked! It was definitely a strong showing and a contender for the win!

panda-eyes Well, there are a couple things I see that don't relate to the challenge. First off, it was said that the two outfits must be completely different. The styles are different, but the outfits are similar. Both have a top and a skirt. Both have knee high socks. Both have hand socks too...well, the first has 1. Either way, the outfits should have differed garment wise to get the greatest effect of differentially. Second off...the first I can see being worn. The second looks more like a costume MEANT for a character. We don't want to design clothes for characters; we want to design clothes for real people. Totally off point.

lasmith was defiantly a contender for the win. The silhouette of the design and the colors were to die for. The opposite design was crazy and mismatched with plaid and violet corsetry. I love pleating, so I was drooling over the dress and its monochromaticy. The fan under the buttocks, I think was in the wrong place…maybe above it? Then it would be perfect. Pat yourself on the back!!!

wakasashe-fashion was great! The silhouettes were wonderful and they were completely opposing. One was frilly, sophisticated, elegant, and modern. The corset looking thing on the bodice was wonderful (everyone knows I hate corsets, but this one is to die for!...if it is a corset.) It was delightful to look at. The opposite was a sporty pant with hoodie. It had little details that were wakasashe. It was the complete opposite but it was still him. I personally loved it.

catzilla Wasn’t as ambitious as I expected her to be. The design was simple, and I actually preferred her opposite. But her design was palpable and passable for the next round. I liked her fabrications, but maybe you guys could venture into some more unusual fabrics. The opposite design I COULDN’T see as catzilla basically because of the dark colors and the seriousness. The illustration kicks butt,Just different aproaches but two winning designs!

ilani I personaly loved both of them. The one on the right: loved the color. It was defiantly her, colorful and flowy... (The skirt). The sequin detailing made it kind of showgirlish though, but however, it was trendy, hip, and sexy. The opposite one was full of embellishments, additions, and adorns this and that. I personally didn't like the brown color on the skirt of the second one. It was straight and wasn’t very interesting silhouette wise.

sparklefly *sigh* Yes! It's great! She really did create an outfit that shows her style and one that shows the opposite. Her outfit is kind of vintage yet simple and sleek. I love the idea of doing a knit dress with kimono style jacket...classic. I especially loved the tights with the color of the shoes, classic as well. The other outfit's kind of punk rock hip and trendyish and I couldn't really say I liked this one. It was juvenile and not really designed. The shirt was horrible and I disliked the tights so much...but it was the opposite of her design aesthetic...so sail on sparklefly...sail on.

OUT: adriannauk (Had to quit for personal reasons.)

panda-eyes designed a body bag hoodie and basic strapless cottton dress and noose inspired purse. I have to tell you. It was fabulous. The overall inspiration and exicution of the look was wonderful, and although the dress was basic the additive hoodie in PVC vynal was fabulous. It was ambitious. It was innovative. It had elements of risk. And it was a huge success. really love the whole contrast from the jacket to her boots. And I can definately see this going down the runway as something different and sleek, but at the same time...delicate. Excellent.

adriannauk...the design was a victim of a crime...but it was just a double strap v neck gown. It wasn't very symbolic in any way. Is this the same adriannauk from Cycle 2??? Adriannauk's focus of inpiration for this challenge wasn't the most creative...to me it was basically something predictable. If I were her, I would have at least added some holes and cut gashes in the dress to "make" it look more inspired by phsyical damage...anyways the dress ended up looking like a homeless person's gown. One thing to remember...no matter how ugly a challenge may be in terms of "subject"...always keep the flattering aspect of ANY design in mind. In this case, I can't see it being remembered, but forgotten. ON the bright side it was beautiful with all of the layers of the chiffon and it was wearable...but overall it was too basic and too boring to compete for a win.

sparklefly's design was strangled, and strangled quite elegantly if I do say so myself. The bust and bodice could have used some innovation, but other than that, it was completely fine. Making a design pretty based off of crime is definately an option, but making it inspired and believable is not an option, its a must. It was risky with all of those puffs and pulls...with that being said, it could have been tacky, but she did it right. I wasn't sure about the color of the jacket with the violet and glod ombred fabric...bud let's think of it this way. Jackets are meant to be removed. The whole concept of her being strangled came across really well! And not to mention is asthetically pleasing to look at and...well just a beautiful piece all together! Way to go sparkle!

lasmith...I personally didn't really get it. All of the rips, and the glass, and the "curtain fabric". It was all over the place! I know that these were put on for an added affect, and they could have worked...but they didn't. It looked kind of arbitrary. it doesn't exactly translate well. Sticking red strips of fabric all over a beautiful japanese old lady evening dress doesn't quite solve it because it loses the flattering factor. I see the vision, but I don't see the inspiration translated well or creatively...basically the execution is horrible. However, it did portray the look of someone falling out of a window...it just could have been more organized and flattering.

ceazar did great. It was definatly an ambitious design and it was modern fab, yet scary! The headdress was unusual...and I didn't really get it. The chains looked like they would be noisey, and you could have eaisily substituted it for some braided fabric...although it wouldn't have given you the same effect. I'm glad that he used jersey, a different fabric and leather. His signature gloves came back and it was a wonderful addition to the listing of entries.

wakasashe-fashion The design was in and out fabulous...but would you expect any less from him? The idea of arson as the crime was beautifully illustrated with and actual scene and the molotov cocktail accessory was an unexpected and eminent addition to the design. The main attraction as always with wakasashe's designs are the bodices. The sheer fabric for the bust, sequins, and silk all corresponded beautifully and was easily a contender for the win.

adeladia Aside from the drawing not being as up to par as I wanted it to be for this challenge...the inspiration and execution is definately there. The only problem im seeing is a shyness of not translating an inspiration as much as you can. The small little weights hanging on her garments should have been a lot bigger in my eyes...I mean come on, the only way you drown someone with weights is only if the weights are bigger and heavier. It could have been expressed in different sizes, but in different material so its appealing and different. It could have definately been an avant garde original. The overall look was interesting and it looked edgy and high fashion. I just didn't like the golden embroidered worms on the side. Other than that little matter of personal taste, it was very creative and keeping with the theme with the irridesent top.

ilani It was good, not great, but good. Decent. She seems to be sliding on through the compition. I however liked the prencess seams in the bodice and bust, and the unexpected fishnet top. I didn't really like the rippings on the bottom, but that's a matter of personal taste, and I feel like she could have definatly pushedthe design further.

catzilla

out: hankita

Still waiting for other judges' comments so check back!

catzilla Beautiful! So fresh and clean! The tailoring in all of her pieces is so unique. We love the cut of the skirt and the jacket especially. Fun, cute, classy, and classic! It was as evident as ever that her experience as a design student had provided her with all the right stuff for strategic decision-making and problem-solving. She was showing signs of heavy stress (with classes and all), and I became very concerned that she would be unable to finish this challenge. In the end, she pulled it off, perfectly! A job well done!

sparklefly the 1st shirt was pretty...I'll admit...and the coat was nice but so typical! I'll be honest I thought it was boring. And don't quote me on this one okay? But it looks so typical! how many times have you seen all of those outfits? A million! Besides that fact, it was at least decent. It would flatter any body type, it followed the design specifications, and it was at least half-way trendy. These outfits would be great for the office, a night on the town, or just about anything! The first two designs are a bit too simple, however the collar of the white blouse is really nice, and the coat is adorable. I'd put it in a store.

hankita First of all...she did the challenge incorrectly. She had 7 garments...not five. The 1st shirt was way too low and revealing...almost trashy (if the wrong person wore it). The first outfit is rather simple, the second is very modern but the hat just doesn't work with it, and the third looks comfy and wearable around the house or going jogging. Not quite sure how a hoodie goes with flip flops though. One of us thought she was going to have a seizure...it was so "limited too" like 4th grade girly...ish! The last outfit was decent...it wasn't too creative but it had a certain appeal to it that we kinda liked. All in all it was fabulous to me...but you should be lucky...you got more points than leashapore. If she had gotten 2 more points you would have been out..follow directions.

lasmith Alright..so we're all for the cute baby doll..vintage classic type cutes but that much of THAT striped fabric? What was she thinking? It's like mixing demure and elegant with pop princess! and not succeeding! I loved the coat...and I loved the cuts of the designs but that striped fabric just killed it! This challenge was about incorporating the chosen fabric into your designs to make beautiful pieces! Not making great designs and throwing in a random and totally different style fabric that kills the looks!

panda-eyes ONE of us said: cute...not amazing but cute. I liked the first shirt a lot. it has some adorable little apple buttons and a nice cut. The jacket was cute...not amazing but fairly nice. The walking shorts were a bit dull...strange color as well...The skirt was very cute. but that last top...can you say PRIVATE SCHOOL UNIFORM? no one wants to walk around looking like a kindergartener...I mean really now...this is not supposed to appeal to those in the first grade! So she took the apple term quite literally...and it was cute and all...just not that great. But personally, I loved it. It had an Anna Sui quality about it that was very calming and unique. Well done.

ilani The first and last designs are so uncreative! I've seen millions of them in department stores and all that crap...and no that they're even good designs anyways. The coat had this random cut in the right shoulder...it looked like she had bee attacked and her coat ripped...instead of it looking like a cohesive element in her design. I liked the skirt of the middle one..but other than that this one was a totally disappointment...Maybe next time you could experiment with the silhouette. Great color choices, great top designs, and adorable shoes! The black sheer top is a nice addition, but that makes for 3 tops in the designs, which is more than the challenge called for. The top with the poufy sleeves is adorable and looks like it would be a top seller in a store. As much as minishorts are in style at the moment, they look like regular minishorts, not specially designed ones. The coat and skirt definately stand out, in a good way, though they do not blend in as well with the other two designs as part of a collection. It would have made the designs even better.

ceazar It's good...We loved the shoes of the 2nd one and the bags! To die for! and I loved the shorts...I think he did a great job at making something unique and creative while still using the required fabrics. The patterns used are very flattering and feminine, as are the shapes of the garments. And an Apple Pie logo was created even! Great accessories. These designs would work wonderfully for someone who wants to be trendy and casual, or sexy and chic. To tell the truth it looked like he used more than 5 garments, and that's a win in itself! Hoorah!

adriannauk's line was decent and it was wearable and it looked accessible. I personally think that without a lining the chiffon top would reveal too much (especially because it's white) which takes away points. Poor usage of the fabrics I provided. These designs are lovely with that bit of couture flair. The colors and patterns are bold and elegant. There is a bit of vintage inspiration in these designs, adding more class to these gorgeous outfits. Love the smocking of the skirt waistband. And that jacket would definately turn heads when worn with any outfit. Seems almost boring and monochromatic... But the overall collective look was a plus for the line. Simple, austere, tailored, and sophisticated for the working woman.

Adeladia I personally on the creative side loved her collection. It was kind of modern and very ebullient which is a major factor in determining sales. It was definitely higher in terms of fashion and creativity than others and it was very interesting. The coat was kind of revealing with nothing in the front, but overall it was a solid simplistic design to seal her otherwise risky and colorful "mini-line". I wonder how many customers she would have because it seems a little out-there to me.

wakasashe-fashion designed a wide range of clothing that could me mixed and matched for any situation or scenario. It didn't even look like he used 5 garments, because he placed them strategicly...(the jacket over the shoulder). Are the pants on the first and second design the same, just with the first having the cuffs rolled? It sure looks like it, but the description doesn't say. The pink top is cute and fashionable, but the black vest looks a bit odd design wise (and without any details about it in the description, it's hard to figure it out). The green jacket also doesn't seem to match with the rest of the outfit. Were it not used with the pink top, it would look better but the colors still clash. The green jacket would look much better on the second design. They were chromatic, colorful, and kaleidoscopic, but he toned it down with the tweed which I loved. It was a great showing from wakasashe-fashion.

Out: leashapore My concern was how would you wear a jacket Upside-down? It looked like two different jackets...I could understand inside-out, but upside-down? The skirt/short combo is really catchy, and the tops are very sexy, but what is going on with the jacket? How could wearing a jacket upside down possibly work or be comfortable? It's too confusing to figure out. And why the fabric badges? That is too literal for using the fabric swatches in the designs, and it doesn't really count either. It was in my personal taste, executed poorly and I really didn't understand or comprehend it at all...

wakasashe-fashion The vision was there and it was wonderfully executed. I saw a housewife in the country going on a shopping spree in Milan, cutting things up and sewing them to her taste. Ah! Wonderful. Thankfully I see a cohesive perspective of all the fabrications thrown on it. It could have easily been a horrible design, but instead it's definitely a solid image of a hill billy's everyday outfit being reconstructed into Haute Couture. It fit's the taste of the environment. I think that for this challenge in particular the jumble of shredded fabrics and raccoon tail in the back work! and the top is gorgeous. Great design as usual.

lasmith To ZebrASkinn44..., I see Cinderella's dress re-styled into real Haute Couture, which is a good thing. As a whole, it has a flamboyant character to it...but the bottle caps throw this off. If this is worn on the "red carpet," I just see the coca cola embellishments as almost degrading the garment and turning it into a joke. The reason why is because everything else is fabricated so interesting...the braided squirrel fur as 1 example. The caps are tacky, cheap and placed all over as opposed to the bullets which actually "look" like real jewelry...the idea used here is designing something very raw and organic relating to the environment. I do not see an excellent execution with that. The great things about it was the overall look...but the bottle caps had to go.

ilani Fun colors... just not as creative as it could have been. Another design with potential that couldn't reach it. I like the off the shoulder blouse with that nice big puff insert of the sleeve...as well as the artsy hat because it defines what the challenge was about, but everything else is a disaster. The outfit looks as if everything has been crammed in one...in my eyes, this looks like super girl with a pair of overalls. One lesson in Couture is that wearability should always be a factor no matter how wild the look can be...in this challenge your not asked to do Couture and dress models on a runway. Yay for color! The red definately makes a bold statement. The headpiece keeps me staring. It's definately, well, um, I really don't know what to make of it, other than I wonder how that would look in real life. The use of a peasant top was something I expected to see a lot in this challenge, though I like this adaptation of the more common design. The jumper seems a tad short to me, but I guess that would be fine for hics. Those boots though. Whoa. Sleek, and they add a touch of class in my point of view, believe it or not. That mixed with the skirt-like effect. The outfit actually makes me think of a big iris, as in the flower. Definately a bold design, but I'm not sure it's couture enough.

adriannauk We got a few problems here. I understand Adriannauk isn't infatuated with Haute Couture, but there's a thing called "research" which can be done to execute or learn about anything. With that, she could have used her own design philosophy to her advantage but I see her design as an amateur take on trying to do Couture, but almost failing. Alls we see is a basic outfit with exaggerations...nothing more. The dungaree strap on the right side is horrible, taste wise and function wise. When this girl bends over, it will fall off her shoulder because the waist isn't high enough...something most dungaree pants OR overalls have traditionally in general. For good points, I think the colors work and the look is appropriate for the challenge....but we definitely would have liked a more researched design that also could have even been laid back. Unfortunately, my first reaction was "how are those pants staying on?!" The model's right side looks like the pants are slipping down. Not good. The top is a cute rendering of a suit, looking more like a peasant top, but shouldn't something be worn underneath? The model's breasts are about to pop right out of that top. And I'm not sure how comfy pants would be with the strap like that. It looks like it's a bit tight, and not in a good way. The pants are rather basic, as are all the fabrics used. And I'm not sure what hic would want to be running around in tall platforms. Doesn't seem very practical to me. I think this outfit could have been done much better just by altering the design slightly (adding a top under the jacket, and fixing the pant waist).

sparklefly I felt sparklefly to again, be rather restrained with her vision. It looked like a gingham dress with quilting and a v-neck bust with low back. That's it. realityundersiege said: A GREAT dress by sparklefly! One of her best ever I might say! I just loved the fabrications and the patterns so much! They just went together SO perfectly! The details of the quilting and little flowers made it even more wonderful! I have to say that this one and lasmiths are the two top for me at the moment. it just seems so harmonious and like very little detail was taken into consideration before the end product. LOVED IT! Hillbilly chic it certainly is! Talk about detail, wow. I love the quilting! It adds serious flair to this very elegant, yet hillbilly-inspired outfit. The whole bodice detailing is lovely, especially the little inserts. My only question is, is the skirt bustled like that, or is the model holding the skirt up? I can't quite tell. I love the little peasant top sleeves. My fav thing about this design is how from the front it looks quaint and sexy at the same time, without being crude, and from the back, it's very classy....different points of view.

Hankita Basically the most here that's thrown off is the materials used...chiffon and silk wouldn't be caught dead on a hill billy living in unconventional conditions and areas. Silk and Chiffon...usually expensive to buy doesn't generalize or represent hill billy's nor does it serve as an inspiration towards what hill billy clothes can be. Ultimately, the skirt is alright...the top looks way too close to civilization and the fabrics are totally off. Again, if one doesn't know something, research is available. I don't feel like the outfit blends well together...like the shirt and the top don't feel like they should be part of the same outfit...which is not a good thing...certainly not a timid piece..but not a successful one either. Ho hum. Another variant on a peasant top. I don't think I've ever seen a plaid chiffon before though. I like the slightly angled tiers of the skirt. The overall design is nice and modern, but I'm not sure that it fits well enough into the couture category. And I can't quite tell what's going on with the shirt, except that it is a type of peasant top, but I'm trying to figure out what's with the hem of it. It looks like it's either tattered or it's sewn to the skirt. A nice description of the outfit, rather than a listing of what's there, would have been good.

catzilla A contender or the win...with this challenge, designers were either horrible, or excellent. This is the excellent. Thank god that silk is the type it is because it fits in appropriately with the challenge and introduces a raw hill billy texture in high fashion material. It looks as if its quilted in the illustration. The layering done on the flared hem is wonderful because its both delicate and stylish with having a sheer fabric over a solid fabric scheme. The colors work and don't overdo each other...and the denim piece starting below the waist is most appropriate with belt loops...this clearly looks as if it were deconstructed from a pair of overalls and joined with a red halter dress. I honestly like it a lot. However...the purse has to go. It looks like a porn bag with XXX written on it.

ceazar This guy definately knows how to tease everyone with that shadowed preview he had up all week, because this is great! This has to be the most couture of the designs, though I would think nothing less from this designer. I'm loving the mock alligator-print top, though I'm not sure how comfy that turtleneck-styled collar would be. The exposed part of the back was unexpected and a bit daring without exposing too much. My only real question is how does someone get into this outfit? Where are the closures? Hmm. The pants are great, especially how the belt is done. And that pouf-effect below the knee, playing off the shirt concept is cute. Nice boots too! So yeah, my only nit-picking for this one is how would someone get in and out of this kind of outfit?

panda-eyes Everything is balanced and pretty quirky color scheme wise which we all love from panda-eyes. The nice big flaw I see slapped on this design is the bustle...and it definitely creates problems. First of all, why use it again when it was used previously in another challenge? Being a "neat idea" is no excuse cuz the bustle isn't exactly original and repeating that idea only makes you look like a copy cat with minimal vision versatility. Remember, style does not revolve around 1 vision/image or look. Also, it destroys the elegance this outfit had. The bustle just looks like a bunch of raccoon tales slapped on her behind....which it is. In Haute Couture, things should never be "over done" because it does really take away the fine quality any outfit has. But overall, a very cool design and in some of our books, a contender for the win. It's so hillbilly and yet it has some trendy bits mixed in really nicely. I like the brown tailored shirt and the vest. If those were used with another ensemble, she could just about pass as a business woman. Well, almost. The skirt certainly looks like something a hic could come up with from stuff lying around the house. There's those traditional aspects of hillbillies such as the neckerchief and the straw hat, which could've been done up a bit, along with the cowboy boots. Only one problem though. It's too hic chic, and not enough couture.

adelaida Hehe, cute floppy hat. I like how the overalls aren't made with the usual straps and buckles, but instead with strands of iron rings. I do think that the design should've had at least one pocket though (the design is for hics...and I'm sure they'd have something to carry around). The lacy shirt looks like a nice business top with lace sewn over it, so that kind of loses out on creativity. And the belt just seems to be...well, sitting there. Shouldn't there be a belt loop or something somewhere? I do like the copper button down detail of the overalls though. The purse is really cute and trendy, and the boots are very feminine cowgirl. The outfit is nice, but not creative enough to be really couture.

leashapore Interesting and couture, but besides minimal idiosyncrasy, how in the world is it hillbilly? Uh...all I can say is "what IS it?" It looks like a crinkled wad of fabric...with some buttons... I'm even having a hard time figuring out the description... I am at a total loss... realityundersiege: It looks like someone crumpled up a piece of paper...and strangled BARBIE with it! omg...omg...you have got to be kidding me? is she aware of what contest she's in? has she givien the criteria of the challenge any consideration whatsoever?my goodness...it's frightening to look at!

OUT: deathofrats

leashapore is the Winner!! None of us had anything bad to say about it. The elastic strap is not annoying because it's elastic and it stretches along with the women's body movements. I did have to look at this though for about 10 minutes cuz she didn't provide a back view...so, now I definately understand everything. The elastic band basically serves as the main "function" that holds it all together. 10 points for creativity...the corded piping is beautiful and unique as well as the whole sheerness of everything because ultimately...even the base garment underneath is not vulgar, but sexy and comfortable w/ being fabricated well. It's definately in fashion. The piping is something seen in handbags and even in construction so artsy innovations are in...as well as the baby doll sillhuoette. It's also modern and follows the rules of the challenge. Wereally like this in general.

panda-eyes was very literal with her design. This outfit lacks inspiration from the Capricorn as well as proper color coordination. The empire waisted dress looks like a baby blanket...the print is juvenile and cheap paired with the rest of the outfit. The capricorn expressed here is 100% literal. Alls we see is the symbol pasted on the dress and placed on the necklace. I don't believe it fit the challenge... yes, it could be used as underwear (AFTER the accessories were removed), and of course outerwear, but I do not understand how it could be lingerie whatsoever.

catzilla created a very beautiful and elegant design...but no crab? None what so ever? For all I know this could have been a moon godess design? We felt that the usage of the pearls (and not necessarily the cancer-print) was completely appropriate for conveying "cancer" on a morely subtle level than imposing and obvious. The lingere was VERY beautiful and sexy. Very creative, however we felt that certain aspects of the lingerie were unnecessarily sexy... somewhat vulgar. The ring on the backside of the panty was revealing in a way that compromised the sophistication, especially considering that she was given a shawl that demanded the rest of the outfit to uphold a tangible elegance that the actual shawl possessed. It's definately "In" fashion because this season...embellishment is the new trend according to the fashion shows. All of us think the colors and the embellishment details are beautiful.

lasmith created a shirt that is gorgeous and extremely creative with it's compromisable draping, however the pants totally weren't. But the pants rob the top of it's creativity. This is an example of when ambition gets the best of you. The creativity is wonderful but unnecessary...all those alternate looks aren't needed. Ultimately, your just making the challenge harder for yourself because your goal is to only create 1 daywear look and 1 sleepwear look which can be transitioned. It's obvious all the seperate broach looks were for daywear...which looked great, but the sleepwear is illustrated and looks like a 70s T-shirt put over a pair of capris. Just not flattering. If your gonna have a shirt THAT voluminous when not gathered as shown, you might as well go with a color that looks "light" in volume...you don't want a green cape slapped over your body, unless it's sheer/see-through. I can actually see the daywear looks being worn in bed if only the bottom was different...and yet again kills it. Why wear capris in bed? Well we don't know the fabric do we?

sparklefly Here's an example of big talk for such a simplistic design with simplistic detailing and inspiration. We like how it's inspired more simple because it shows that you don't have to go all conceptual...the challenge was taken more relaxed, however...the fabrics throw it off. In the description it says the "whole thing" is silk charmeuse. Charmeuse is a bit too hard even for lingerie to sleep in...I could see lingerie accented with inserts w/ charmeuse but not whole peices.

ceazar one of us felt that the legging... I feel is almost vulgarly provocative. Ironically,we also feel it to provide a sense of elegance and class (almost 1940s which I love...) that wouldn't've existed otherwise. In end, it's interesting with the back and frilly with the virgo trim. It's elegant, yet still... a cocktail dress. The sequins were nicely added in the shape of the stars, and looked great on the design. Ceazar, anoher job well done!

Hankita This design gave us little trouble. It reminded me far too much of something I'd see at a victoria secret somewhere. Also, it didn't strike me as something I'd ever go out in public during the day. It doesn't seem comfortable to me at all, however, I was in love with the robe that went over it, and I thought the design was very clean and simple, so as not to overwhelm when the robe was being worn. It was good, but nothing spectacular, and I failed to see any clear relevance to the astrological sign. I understand the knee high panty hose b/c it goes with the daywear...but it doesn't exactly need a matching corset because who's going to see it when she's wearing a dress on top? It just deletes comfort.

adriannauk's design wasn't bad, and definatly not boring. The pants seemed like they were just thrown in there at the last minute..not really give any consideration as to how they would effect the whole. The drapery was nice, but would that be comfortable if it was under something else? Dissapointed because she seems to have broken the rules as well. You never said to create "2 looks" to be fused together...or even "2 looks period" that go from day to sleep wear. Ultimately you have a problem because now you have 2 seperate fashion looks that seem to just be in a line/collection.
ilani

Adeladia

wakasahe-fashion

deathofrats

out: StangeLittleChild

Design Topic One: Talior for the Tropics

The first winner...Hankita The tie flying behind her could have been made of rope also and the color contrast makes her looks heavy...all dark, then lighter. The shillouette of the design is pretty basic, but the feathers were a great way to think outside of the box. We really liked this design. Of the ones i've seen this fits the high class and tropical guide lines the most. It looks like some is land queen could wear it. Also the colors are beautiful and it looks like it would be very very comfortable. There was a good usage of materials, layering and construction. The dress as a whole is high status and nicely put together in terms of balance and proportion.

sparklefly It was rather boring, some of te judges said. What we really like about this design is the detailing all the little flowers and such add so much to what would be otherwise a rather boring dress. Some of us love the flower detailing in the front and back! And although it's much better than before, it was still rather boring. Taking leafs and just wrapping them around the body is no way of being innovative or creative. Sometimes you cant design in a behavior of using real fabrics...you have to think out of the box. The materials shown are not as flexible as drawn...it wouldn't look as good in reality. The leafs are drawn too large. The idea itself is more out there and the silhuoette is more classy than before. All in all, the desgin wasn't too feasable and rather...boring.

ilani desgned a very form fitting design filled with thin tree bark and yam leaves. The corset (which alot of the designs used) looked a little uncomfortable before I read that it was made out if thin bark, almost like paper. The pants were woderfully designed with wrappings..that might give her unusual suntans :D One of us said Nice variation of materials, but it looks trashy and non-rich if ever worn in real life. The innovation of the design was commendable, because again the comfort and wearablity is a bit off because it seems to us that the wood based top would be a little stiff and uncomfy. Overall very innovative but that comfort factor’s so killing it.

catzilla took the greatest risk by designing a rather basic dress with a weaved corset and ti plant leaves for the skirt. The bodice of the dress was constructed out of some kind of leaf, but the thing that most stood out was the skirt, the red striped ti leaves. The skirt was appealing here we go again with the weaved top, The little flower on the right was cute, but other than that, it was a basic dress. The colors are very vibrant and have that whole island flare to them…The flowers are drawn well. And it’s just overall appealing!

deathofrats defantly made a statement with her variation of different leaves and grasses, twine, and edible friut hat. This design sheds off ALL sophistication and high class it had in the previous. From the waist up...its lacking. The cups made out of those straw-like plants that hold the breasts and form the bodice is vulgar because the visible construction isn't right. For positives, the various materials used in the design is well balanced and placed so it does not look dilluted or un-focused. If it had some pink blossoms on the dress coordinated w/ that nice headdress hat...it would have really added a huge dash of high art. But the top it just not feasibly possible unless you have tape. We like the creative juices here. But you gotta think about whether it is actually possible to wear it as it is according to the illustration.

ceazar made a "wow" start in the compition with the sculptural top and it definatly looked high fashion, and defantly high art. One of us said: What I don't find appealing is the back were the palm leaves meet and form this weird "spinal cord" like thingy running down and into the dress. It makes it stiff, heavy looking...and a bit like you've got stress-test cords hooked onto you like electric sockets. The embelishemtns and additives on the dress are superb and give it a flavor all of it's own. He missed the point where he should have added shoes, but you can forget the shoes when yo look that hot! The dress and floral leg braclet with the floral addition in the hair was great enough.

Sleek, simple, and elegant, Adeladia's idea to use snakeskin in her design was ingenious and very creative. It definatly added a high fashion perspective to the woman. The snakeskin top was fabulous! So creative! The skirt was pretty...a little bland...but pretty. when snakes shed...it’s a VERY thin and fragile layer and it’s more of a clear color since it’s so thin. The skirt: Straw and string does not flow that easily and would never...nore is it comfortable. plus having to have it soaked in water for a certain look is a waste. So therefore that top would not be very feasible unless she killed more than one snake...which is no problem. SHE won't be the victim of unknown circumstances.

adriannauk alot of judges thought that this design was top notch and we also thought that the weeds on the side were a bit arbitrary. But nonetheless, you wowed the masses with feathers and leaves and leaves and feathers! It was flashy but not tacky and fabulous but not diva. I personally didn't like the flowers on the front of the dress...it just didn't look right to me. One of our "outspoken" judges (laugh with me people) said this: I would have liked to see the feathers on her butt go further down because leaving it like that makes it look like a random deer's backside patched on...but the skirt is balanced out w/ the different sizes. But we ALL agree (even the outspoken judge) that the look was glamourous, and she looked like a "goddess".

leashapore designed a very glamours dress, but it was ready to fall apart any minute. But then I read further that is said that they were knotted together so it wouldn't fall apart. Let's hope our high-class woman has someone else on the island to helper her knot those...she's high-class...she doesn't "do" labor. The dramatic pose was great and added a bit of sophisitcation to the whole peice.

panda-eyes designed a very sexy and sultry dress. Although the dress was sexy...it was vulgar to say the least. The single leaf that covered her breast with the unclassy wraps was "un-high-fashion". The skirt was too tight, but was loosened up a bit with the fluffy shrub on the back of her dress. The wrappings around the foot was cool, but it looked as if it would be uncomfortable.

lasmith created a very colorful and ebuliant dress. But, as many of the judges noticed, "definately not a winner because you don't take inspiration from other designers and their work to make your own work...this was inspired by Gucci and Versace lines. It's almost like being a mass-market knock off designer...very sad." The idea of woven panties for modesty was comendable, but the bodice seemed to be a little vulgar with the holes.

StrangeLittleChild's design was colorful and witty. And wow, talk about some nice patterns there! Love the jacket! The collar is so pretty and seems like actual fabric. And that skirt, gorgeous! With the gradient effect of the colors, it looks like it was made of bits of dyed fabrics. The legwarmners seemed a little odd because it didn't really go with the whole outfit. Everything in this, though made of plants, looks just like a bunch of fabrics on a real outfit. Well done!

wakashashe-fashion (late no comment)

Out: Narayka was very straightforward with her design..and it wasn't very creative in my personal opinion. It seemed like the actual dress was ready for further additions and embelishments. I mean it was nice, but it was too simple and b-o-r-i-n-g. One of our judges said: Another example of something that had the potential of being great and witty. The idea is pretty well focused and high class...the leaf stole kills it somewhat because it looks trashy as if she just found it laying on the ground. On top of that, the coconuts seemed to be very uncomfortable, and very cliche. Other than that, she design was wearable and it seemed comfortable.
